Choose-ups
Sarah Shank will continue to support and hold tee times for those days when we do not have a scheduled event. The start time will be Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. You will need to call and sign-up by Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in order to play. No exceptions! Weekday choose-ups will also be organized and supported by the golf staff and course. The Friday choose will begin at 3:30 p.m. and various other choose-ups will be available throughout the week. You must call into the golf shop and sign-up no later than Friday at 2:00 p.m. to play in the Friday chooes-up. Please call Pleasant Run golf shop for additional times on their various weekday choose-ups.
Sign-up Deadline
All events will have a sign-up deadline of Thursday at 5:00 p.m. No exceptions! You must call ahead and sign-up to play in the event. If you cannot commit and play by Thursday evening, then do not sign-up. If you are probable or could possible play, then call the golf shop and explain the situation and we can put you on an alternate list.
Price per Event
The tournament fee for each event will be $26 per person (excluding the Southside and Eastside Ams). Each week's payout will depend on the number of participants.
Event Payout
All events will be paid out in gift certificates. The Sarah Shank Southside Amateur (Two-Man Better Ball), and the Eastside Amateur will also be paid out in gift certificates in order to protect the integrity of an all amateur field. The organized choose-ups and all other choose-ups will contain a cash payout and will be specified on the schedule.
Leading Points Winners and Champions' Cup
Throughout the year, the golf staff will be tracking the leading points winners through each event. The leaders will be displayed in the Men's locker room as well as our website. The year-ending Champions’ Cup will be an invitational only tournament containing the top 24 points winners.
Club Championship
Only Sarah Shank and Pleasant Run GHIN handicap players will be eligible. There is no round restriction to compete in either of the championships at both courses.
*No Cheating Policy*
In order to eliminate any cheating, sandbagging, or improper golf course behavior, Sarah Shank Golf Course along with the Men’s Club Association has created a no cheating policy. In any Men’s Club Events, or Weekend and Weekday Choose-ups, you must abide by the rules set forth by the USGA and any local rules put into affect by Sarah Shank Golf Course and the Men’s Club Association. This includes not turning in all your rounds played to alter your handicap. This is not allowed. Cheating will not be tolerated! No exceptions! Any cheating will result in suspension of play from any Sarah Shank Men’s Club Events and Choose-ups. This rule will be administered and governed by Sarah Shank Golf Staff and the Men’s Club Association.
Website Access
For those computer savy players, we will have an area containing all the vital information for our tournament schedule. This area will contain schedules at both courses, event results, point distributions, and overall points standings. Particularly Sarah Shank will contain a calendar displaying all events and a brief desciption of the tournament for each month. We believe you will find this calendar most beneficial. Once you sign-up as a Preferred Player on our website main page and become an approved user, you will have the capability to access this tournament information, course savings, and other course news.
Preferred Player Program
This is a new program created specifically for our loyal customers like our Tournament GHIN players. Once you sign-up, you will have access to savings, website privileges accessible only by our Preferred Players, coupons emailed to you, course newsletters, discounts on slow tee times, golf shop discounts and much more.
